easyQuickView: Free Quick Look Previews for Mac
I use Finder’s Quick Look constantly, but plain text previews make it hard to scan a Markdown document, a JSON response or a log. So I built easyQuickView, a set of six native Quick Look extensions for macOS.
Select a file in Finder and press Space. Markdown gets formatted text and Mermaid diagrams; JSON gets a collapsible tree. Source code and YAML get syntax highlighting, .env files mask likely secrets, and logs color their severity levels. The previews follow the Mac’s light and dark appearance.
The source code is on GitHub under the MIT license. You can also download the beta DMG for macOS 15 or later.
This first DMG is signed for development and is not notarized. macOS may block its first launch; the installation instructions explain how to approve the app you downloaded. I tested the app in a separate macOS virtual machine, and the beta label stays until distribution signing and installation have been tested more broadly.
